Why the name,Galeria 13?
PAULO(very English name) new native ENGLISH speaking owner provides PELOURINHOwith its'NEWEST HOSTEL' ,the old colonial house already has its own history in the Pelourinho-historical centre & night spot playing an important role as a famous rendevouz for artists & musicians when it served as a bar & restaurant.
Transforming the beautiful colonial house,it now offers a comfortable,homely experience but at affordable prices providing a new meeting point for like minded folk,you guys,Travellers!!!
After eleven years travelling & living in various countries around the world, it was time to choose a spot to settle so i decided on Salvador- a great city that provides a super mixture of art,culture,music & of course sun & beaches-to be my permanent base & where i will offer other travellers a comfortable & safe temporary home whilst visiting this amazing city.
From the street
The old house deceives the on-looker as it seems to have only two floors, but in fact it offers three floors, the upper two divided into five rooms with beautiful wooden floors & strong locally made bunks,all rooms have ensuite showers.
Downstairs you will find the large area divided between the reception,restaurant with cocktail/juice bar & Moroccan chill out room with the interesting options to relax & mix with your fellow guests.
Running along side the house you will discover the relaxing garden terrace & restaurant area where breakfast is served & where meals can be enjoyed through out the day or where a peaceful beer can be savoured away from the hustle & bustle of the terraces of Pelourinho where sometimes just one too many offers of free gifts is enough.
Even though new in "pelo" it already has lots of guests from other hostels & locals who appreciate the unique experience the garden provides in the old town.
Another unique service provided is the chance to phone home on the "Skype" phone,so you want to speak in private you can do it from your bed or maybe even the hammock,a lot better than a internet cafe eh!!!!!
Also outside you will find more relaxing chill out spots whether in a hammock
